This weekend in San Diego holds one of the best events of the year: the Triton Gaming Expo.
Dedicated to gaming, technology, and arts, the 2-day event centers around the increasingly vivid world of digital culture. Think of the Triton Gaming Expo as an on-campus version of PAX, where anything gaming and gaming-culture goes. Want to come dressed up as a character from your favorite game? Go ahead!
There are four major special events happening on Saturday and Sunday this weekend:
Cosplay contest
You can come dressed up and compete with the best of both the gaming and anime world
Artist’s alley
Local artists and travelers from afar come and show off their stunning artwork
Art contest
If you think you have the chops, submit your original artwork and see where you stand
Intermission ensemble orchestra
The orchestra will play songs from various games and anime
But if you’re a gamer, where do you fit in? Don’t fret: the Triton Gaming Expo is all about games:
Attendees will be able to sign up and compete in all the most popular eSports titles, including League of Legends, Overwatch, CS:GO, and Hearthstone. There’s even a tournament setup for those who want to pounce on their foes in Pokemon Sun & Moon!
Some of our favorite technology companies will be at the event too, so you’ll get to play with all the latest gear. Nvidia, Gigabyte, iBUYPOWER, MSI, and others will be on deck. Best of all, J!NX will be there too for those looking to pick up gaming swag.
